Researchers have found that there are 5 healthy habits a mom can follow that will reduce the likelihood of her child or children becoming obese.
1. Maintaining a healthy weight herself
2. Engage in physical activity weekly
3. Don't smoke
4. Consuming only a small amount of alcohol
5. Eat healthy- vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole grains
Eeating healthy alone made little impact but all 5 habits in combination with one another cut the risk of obesity by 75%. There's no doubt that mothers can be a powerful role model for their children and in relation to obesity outcomes there is no exception.
